About this metric

Monthly returns measure the percentage change from the first to the last daily close of each calendar month. They are the cleanest way to see a market's rhythm: streaks, seasonality and how clustered gains or losses actually are. A high share of positive months with shallow losing months is a very different profile from the same average return delivered in a lumpy way.

Methodology

  • Data: daily closes from the BTCUSDT market on Binance (public REST API).
  • Window: 17 August 2017 — 12 October 2026; pages recompute at most every 6 hours.
  • All figures are calculated by CoinCrypTick from that raw data — nothing is quoted from third parties.
  • Not financial advice. Crypto assets are volatile; read the drawdown page before the returns page.
